For Sarah, a 15-year engineering veteran, her passion for buildings and engineering started when she was a child with her Lego sets- spending hours building & problem solving with her friends. Now, with over 3.5M GSF of commissioning experience, her favorite childhood hobby has become her life’s work as the President of Green Footprints Commissioning, Inc. Sarah still likes watching buildings go up, but she and refocused her love of building Legos into building teams. Teams that can work together towards a common goal. Two phrases sum up her beliefs about construction and commissioning… “We can do so much more together, than we can on our own” and “With great communication, comes few surprises.”

A Registered Mechanical Engineer (PE), Qualified Commissioning Provider (QxCP), Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), and LEEP Certified Professional, Sarah is known for her exceptional communication skills and special ability to connect with project owners. Her varied facility experience includes hospitals, laboratories, universities, schools, and office space.

Sarah is committed to sustainable design and extends herself to the engineering community by serving nationally as the vice chair of ASHRAE’s Commissioning Technically Committee (TC-7.9), a committee devoted to discussion of commissioning issues in the US and throughout the world. Additionally, she serves as Chair of ASHRAE’s Conference & Expositions Committee, which is responsible for the technically programming at all ASHRAE sponsored conferences. This past fall, Sarah has also started to lecture for the University of Wisconsin, in their The Commissioning Process for Delivering Quality Constructed Projects course. Additional professional organizations that she is a member of include: the National Association of Women in Construction, the Association for Facilities Engineering, the Assabet Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Hudson Business Association. Green Footprints Commissioning, Inc. is a corporate member of the US Green Building Council.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys being a Girl Scout leader for seventeen 5th grade girls, playing & coaching soccer, and building Legos with her kids!
